A list of ways to obtain games that we have been denied.

Note: Sometimes foreign versions of home console games can run slower than their American/Japanese counterparts. This is due to a difference in voltage from North America and Japan to the rest of the world.

NTSC (J): North America, Canada (?), Japan

PAL: Australia, All of Europe (except France?), New Zealand, others.

Most PS2, Xbox, Gamecube and Dreamcast games that are PAL may have an option to choose a 60hz mode, but not always, do your research. All games released on consoles from NES to Playstation 1 are 50hz in PAL regions as far as I know, though I don't think any games on those consoles have been censored (besides PC). As far as I know with PS3 and Xbox 360, all games are now in 60hz mode (though I may be wrong). For the Wii there is a 60hz mode on Australian Wii's in the menu. Add more info here later.

Another Note: Many games simply weren't released in Australia for reasons other than censorship! I won't go in to how to get these games, as it would require tallking about like every console ever made.

ImportingEdit

Import the game using Ebay, Play-Asia, etc.

PC: If the game is on PC and single-player only, it should work fine with your computer. Multi-player, especially if the game is activated through Steam, may be a problem. There are DOS emulators.

Gamecube: This exploit may work on Wii's that you havn't yet updated. Mod chip allows import games AFAIK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjS0FA-PwV0 There are (unstable) Gamecube emulators.

Wii: New Zealand/UK games MAY work, need to do more research. North American games definitely don't. Mod chip allows import games AFAIK. There are (unstable) Wii emulators.

Xbox: New Zealand/UK games MAY work, need to do more research. North American games definitely don't. Mod chip allows import games AFAIK.

Xbox 360: New Zealand/UK games MAY work, need to do more research. North American games definitely don't. Mod chip allows import games AFAIK. You may have a different online region than the one you wanted.

PSP: New Zealand/UK games MAY work, need to do more research. North American games definitely don't. Mod chip allows import games AFAIK. Can you download censored games through US PSN store?

PS2: New Zealand/UK games MAY work, need to do more research. North American games definitely don't. Mod chip allows import games AFAIK.

PS3: The console is region free (only for PS3 games, not PS1/PS2), though you should make a PSN account of the game you are importing to you can get DLC. Be warned this may change your online region? You can download the PS3 Mortal Kombat 9 Demo off the US store if you wish.

DS: DS and DS Lite are region free, as is GBA slot on these consoles (no games on GBA were censored). DSi, DSiXL, and 3DS have DS slots, but they are not region free. No games have been censored/banned on DS as of yet.

3DS: New Zealand/UK games MAY work, need to do more research. North American games definitely don't. Mod chip allows import games AFAIK. No games have been censored/banned on 3DS as of yet.

PiracyEdit

If you really don't give a fuck about the law, you can try pirating it. The government sometimes gives us no option to experience entertainment other countries take for granted. I won't go into how to do it, but make sure you're getting an uncensored/American version.

This is a last resort, respect the laws even if they seem unfair.

This is very easy for PC, I won't explain it here anyway.

You can play uncensored backup Gamecube games on a hardmodded Gamecube or hard/softmodded Wii ( softmodded only applies if the Wii released before sometime 2010? The Gamecube only works off DVD-R disc loading, which was taken out in later drives).

You can play uncensored backup Wii games on a hard/softmodded Wii off of USB, or disc (softmodded+disc only applies if Wii was released before that certain date).

You can play uncensored backup PS2 games on a hardmodded PS2. There are (unstable) PS2 emulators.

You can play uncensored backup Xbox games on a hardmodded Xbox. There are (unstable) Xbox emulators.

You can play uncensored backup PSP games on a hardmodded PSP. There are (unstable) PSP emulators.

You can play uncensored backup PS3 games on a hard/softmodded PS3, dont know how hacking that system goes though.

You can play uncensored backup Xbox 360 games on a hard/softmodded Xbox 360, dont know how hacking that system goes though.

DS: There are mod chips. No games have been censored/banned on DS as of yet. There are DS emulators.

3DS: There are (unstable) mod chips. No games have been censored/banned on 3DS as of yet. There are (unstable) 3DS emulators.
